Pallet projects

It seems like there are hundreds of pallet projects out there so I just had to try some.  The real trick is getting those babies apart and still in some usable form.
This bench has wheels on one end to easily move around the deck or patio.  It used most of two pallets.

The signs were a lot of fun and free style.
These are just a few new things in our booth.
Ya'll come by.

Typography

I am seeing a trend these days.  I love the written word and with so much of our communication in email, text and e-readers, it is so nice to savor typography.  In our booth, we have just brought in a vintage typing table and typewriter.  It is surrounded by oversize scrabble tiles made from reclaimed pallets.  (Don't worry, I didn't charge for the blood, sweat, and busted knuckles brought forth in getting the pallet apart.)  On the wall, you can see the "Gifts of the Holy Spirit" collage, also made using pallet wood.

Can't you just feel the "HUG" in this inviting space?
Have a blessed day.

The Lovely Lady is in the house

I am thrilled to have this buffet in our booth.  The finish is not too rough and the drawers are so solid.  I love the long drawer, perfect for those tablecloths.  The center drawer is divided for silverware or smaller serving pieces.  There is a key to open the two side doors which are open for taller pitchers or candleholders.  There are six legs with wood casters.  I have held onto this piece for quite a while, but just can't give it a home.

I have a fascination with domes and this one is sitting atop a white oak log slice.  It is sanded smooth and treated with mineral oil so you could use it for its intended cheese slices.  I like the carpenters ruler, too.  My granddad had one of those back in the day.

Soon, we will be trading out our robin's egg blues in the booth for brighter blues, greens and yellows.  Sometimes, a change of the main pop of color is all you need to make the whole area feel fresh.  Try to incorporate at least three places for impact.  It is fun to just move your furniture around too.

Welcome to the Moss Patch

At the Moss Patch, we appreciate the simpler things. When so many things in this crazy world are running at breakneck speed, sometimes the best thing is to simply slow down, to a snail's pace, if you can. Moss only grows on still things that are resting in the shade. That is just where we like to be!

Welcome to this little corner where you will find a few interesting things put together in fun ways. Who knew that a bed is for so much more than sleeping, or that old chairs could get together to make a really neat bench? Come see us often because the unexpected is just around the corner.
We will be on the lookout for fun things to stock our booth for you to enjoy.  It is never a dull moment at the Goodlettsville Antique Mall.
